This is one of the oldest estate in the Kitay-Gorod area. The 300 hundred year estate belonged to the one of the reachest family line in the russian history. It is consider to be a monument of architecture and one of the best buildings in Moscow of XIX century.
The estate project by architect Egotov I.V. was made in the style of classicism. The building was reestablished and now has the appearance as it was before the 1812 Moscow Fire. The face of the building, authentic vaults, tiled chambers with brassy valves were reconstructed by the historical drafts. On the building gable you could see the shield of Goncharovs’ family line, which is devided by the sword.
